Due to the growing popularity of Hyundai, Kia and DaeWoo under the GM umbrelka, we're going to open a new section of the forum for those Marques tonight guys. The current range of Japanese cars are well enough catered for on various other forums , but we here on AutoStadt are always trying to be the leaders in car cultured related issues.

Thanks for reading, we welcome your feedback. Ps we will be looking for a couple of new moderators soon.

Speaking of Korean cars. Myself and the OH's father were given a brand spanking KIA Rio or something as a rental car. We were the first people to use it. I dont care what anyone says about them coming so far in 10 years. They are still sh*t. The interior was awful. The plastics were of a very poor grade and we needed to check the manual to turn off the wipers. Yeah it was that bad! The 1.6d engine was poky enough around town and it stood up to the abuse it got for 2.5hrs straight as we were behind time but loud and unrefined. It could easily have been an interior of 10 years ago. Id much rather buy an e46 M3 or e39 M5 and use the money saved for fuel/tax/parts. Life is too short to drive a dirtbox!

To be fair, a baseline Golf interior (typical rental fodder) is fairly bleak too.

I had a basic enough mk7 for a couple of days last year. Was impressed by the build quality but it was rather bland. The 1.6d was just as unrefined though. I'm not a fan of the small diesel engines.
