On foot of the successful track day, I was wondering if there would be interest in a Karting
event like we did way back in the Club GTI Eire days?

Somewhere like http://www.whiteriver.ie

I'm thinking a GP style on the long track at €75 with a minimum of 10 people?

Have you seen that track Gearoid? Is it big enough for cars?

The good tracks I know of are
Pallas in Tyna Galway
Whiteriver Louth
Kart city near the airport
Mondello still do karts?

Great idea.

Pallas is pretty central with the motorway. I remember my dad taking me there nearly 20 years ago during the week when the pipes burst in my school. Not a soul in the place, only myself and my brother on the track driving karts that were way too powerful for children. Great day, the mother never found out.

I run the karting club in work and race once a month, moving through the following venues

Whiteriver - Collon, Co Louth
Is probably the most professionally run,

FOR fantastic track, has the most evenly configured karts and outdoor
Against only open during daylight hours, very busy on a weekend as a lot of competitions and practice session held by club teams

Kart City - Santry

For Great track, outdoor, open all hours and reasonable rate, up to 20 Karts on track at one time
Against Karts have been very hit and miss recently

Kylemore -

For open all hours, reasonable rate
Against narrow track, staff very strict of late, karts very slow

I have raced at Tynagh and its a great track but found the karts unevenly matched

Midland Karting in Edgeworthstown is another option, with a good track but I havent been there in years.

I'd agree with the comment about Tynagh Karts. There is a big difference between some karts.

Ive raced at white river. Very professional. Set up like a proper racetrack. Its great fun. Pretty long too... All karts are relatively new too....

In relation to the comments about kart differences at pallas, that might explain why Tristan made shyte of myself and a few others a couple years ago. It all makes sense now!

Midland karting is a decent track but karts aren't evenly matched

I was at Midland Karting in Edgeworthstown back in July with a couple of the lads. Track is pretty good and very professional set up but I agree that the karts are hit and miss...

Great idea though and I'm all for it date depending
