It's Road Trip Time!

Tá TURAS BÓTHAIR CHONAMARA AR AIS ARÍS!

DATE: Saturday, September 28th
TIME: Meeting 9am and leaving 9.45am
STARTING LOCATION: Oughterard, Connemara, Galway

After the resounding success of TBC on April 26th 2018 we have been eager to organise another epic Turas Bóthair on Ireland's West Coast taking in some amazing driving roads, post card scenery and unspoiled landscapes that lie awaiting discovery.

The scene is set, the route is nailed down and the open road awaits!

We have venues organised to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and a list of accommodation has been put together for those who would like to join us on Saturday evening for dinner, a sociable drink and plenty of banter to top off the event.

The event is limited to 30 cars so it's best to get your name down to confirm you will be attending asap. You can put your name down in the separate Sign Up thread and let us know if you plan on having lunch and/or dinner and if you have a passenger so we can give numbers to the food venues.

In the meantime, have a look at the video below to get a taste of what last year's event entailed!

Well done on organising it! I got suspicious when I saw you and Paul were out driving around Connemara!

Have you details finalised on dinner, when and where?

Fair play lads. Any info on the lunch venue ? Want to have a look at their website to see if they offer gluten free options if not I can bring a packed lunch. Thanks in advance.

Yep Paul and I have been mad to organise something!

Dinner is in the same place as last year, Powers Thatch Bar in Oughterard. We had difficulty trying to find a suitable venue and this venue was great last year and is delighted to host us again. We have a reserved area and a 3 course menu at a very reasonable €25. If anyone doesn't want the full 3 courses it will be discounted accordingly.

They are also serving breakfast from 9am on the morning.

Gluten free is no problem at all, Shane. I mentioned it to the venue in anticipation of your good self attending!

Do we have a rough itinerary for the day? Just curious as to what sort of time we'd expect to be finishing up.

Leaving Oughterard at 9.45am and having lunch around 1pm. Hoping to be back around 6-7pm in Oughterard where people can head for dinner or tip off.

Right so lads, I'm looking to start finalising numbers for lunch and dinner so we can let the venue know how many people will be sitting.

If anyone can't make the event please reply below so we can offer the place to another person.

Thanks!

I may have to scoot away a touch early, so I think count me out for the dinner. In for the rest of it though.
